18,000 same sex couples were legally married in California from May to November 2008. We are the ambassadors for GLBT marriage rights in our state.
I suspect the North Dakota (tar sands, blech!) Oil Boom is skewing those numbers somehow (whether all those oilworkers actually ARE less gay, or just say so!).
I suspect PA's low rate is due to very full closets in this very red state outside the population centers.
