a simple declaration that gay relationships are anathema to the people of North Carolina. That's what drives the anti-marriage equality movement: the removal of gay people from full family life.You hate us? We get it. The sad thing is that you say you hate us because you're Christian.
So perhaps it's worth pointing out how unChristian this is, from last Sunday's Bible readings for liturgical churches that follow the Common lectionary.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in love. We love* because he first loved us. Those who say, ‘I love God’, and hate their brothers or sisters,* are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister* whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen. The commandment we have from him is this: those who love God must love their brothers and sisters* also. 1 John 4:18-21So maybe some Christians ought to read their Bibles more, what do you think?

The Christianists have never read the red words in their KJVs. Jesus was all about love. Guess who the Christianists are following. Naively thanks to Fox and their preachers.
They read with blinkers. For instance they'll see
4:15 God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God.
So no non-Christian is within the group 'brothers and sisters' and therefore it is ok to hate them. In deed they are withered branches to be cast into the fire (from the gospel reading for last Sunday).
My own thought is they have to know those whom they have learned to demean (or worst) and learn otherwise. That couple married when it was legal who helps out their elderly neighbor; the rabbi who shows one can be Jewish and a lesbian (this probably won't help to much with the Christians); etc.. After that then they will reread the Bible with new blinkers (but at least blinkers that will read the Bible as love] or they leave Christianity.
